Our responsibilities

Motorproof is a small business with straightforward commitments. We do not make grand claims. We do the things that matter - treat users fairly, protect their data, and operate honestly. Here is what that looks like in practice.

Protecting users

Every car on Motorproof is verified against DVLA records before any buyer can see it. This is our core commitment and it is non-negotiable. It protects buyers from fraud, protects sellers from being associated with unverified listings, and keeps the platform trustworthy for everyone.

We do not sell user data. We do not display advertising. We do not use dark patterns to push users into decisions they did not intend to make. Our pricing is transparent and published openly on the platform.

Fair access

Private sellers list their cars for free. This is deliberate. The used car market in the UK can penalise private sellers who cannot afford platform fees. We believe a verified, free listing is a fairer starting point.

Dealer pricing is designed for small independent dealers who need platform visibility without losing sight of business viability. Our plans start at £49 per month with no setup fee.

Environmental responsibility

Motorproof is a digital platform with no physical premises and no vehicle stock. Our environmental footprint is limited to our hosting infrastructure. We host on Vercel and Supabase, both of which operate data centres committed to renewable energy programmes.

We actively support the transition to electric vehicles by giving EV listings equal prominence on the platform and providing dedicated search filters for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Safety and fraud prevention

Vehicle fraud costs UK consumers millions of pounds each year. Clocked mileage, stolen cars, undisclosed write-offs, and fake listings can occur on unverified platforms. Motorproof's verification-first model directly addresses this.

We maintain a clear reporting process for suspicious listings at info@motorproof.co.uk. Reported listings are reviewed promptly. We cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies when required.

Accessibility

We design Motorproof to be usable on all devices and screen sizes. We use sufficient colour contrast, semantic HTML, and keyboard-navigable components. If you experience any accessibility issue on the platform, please contact us at info@motorproof.co.uk and we will address it promptly.

Honest communication

We will not use your email address to send marketing you did not ask for. Transactional emails (account confirmation, lead notifications, listing updates) are sent because they are necessary for the service. If we ever introduce optional marketing communications, we will ask for your explicit consent first.
